Our CO is single.
I an Elder that he needs to get married because he has no clue how to treat a woman.
What he said to my wife, has stumbled her spiritually, she has only gone to 2 meetings since his visit in April!
well, our sister congregation just had their co visit this past week.
on saturday afternoon, i was talking to a couple of ministerial servants in that congregation and they stated that an unmarried brother is not fulfilling to the max what jehovah wants of us.
they stated that the co went on a tirade that if you are unmarried you are being selfish and not following what jehovah wanted for mankind since he created eve as a compliment for the man.

because of the may broadcast about how funds are down, our elders have been in their talks "encouraging" or pressuring everyone to donate more to the world wide work.. it freaks me out how we already give them a set amount of $600 a month, plus what is contributed by the congregation(usually $400 to $500 a month).
heck, our local congregation bank account even got below $500 for the first time this past may since i have been doing the accounts(4 years now).
for june, we raised a whopping $2400 to send into the branch.. the most amazing part, is that only a select few contribute on a regular basis every month.
In 3 years of doing the Accounts, no one has asked for a receipt, although they could have.
Being the Account servant, I was told any of the Brothers on the Microphone and Stage list are the only "Qualified" ones to assist me in counting the Contributions. I never ask an Elder, they have more important things to do!

Yes, we pledged $600 as a regular donation(which comes out of our local expenses) and have 2 contribution boxes 1 for local expenses and 1 for the World Wide Work, for those that want to donate more.
Before the change, we were already sending the Branch $600 as on loan to them with the understanding that if we needed to borrow from the account, the funds were there. No more, all gone. Now if you need money for anything, you must apply.

Yes, we have 3 people that contribute the lions share(75%) out of 80 pubs; 1 Elder and 2 Elderly Sisters.

The most Amazing part, is that only a select few contribute on a regular basis every month. Out of 7 Elders, only 3 contribute every month, and out of the 6 MS's, I have never seen a check from them and those 4 Elders(which I can not wrap my head ahead that also, cash is very rare)!
But June was a game changer. All of a sudden, everyone had a check to put in the contribution box, some foregoing a Summer Vacation to support the WT Org. The Secretary even checked with me weekly to see if funds were coming in. I waiting to see if any of these checks bounce.
in the 60's and 70's when i became a mindless cult follower there.
were gathering for the elite and they would get sh---t face, i mean down right.

In our town we have 2 English congregations. 1 has 8 Elders (3 plus 70 years old, 3 plus 60, 1 plus 50, and at 44 years old).
The 2nd English has 6 Elders (2 in their 70's, 3 in their 60's and one in his 50's).
Do you see this happening in your area?
i just got a call from a friend who informed me that a brother whom i've known for a while and is an elder, just found out last night that his wife of 20+ years declared she was gay, and left him..
i still need to confirm but my friend is very reliable and was close friends with the family.
heres the thing, she spent 20+ years with this man, has children with him and now decides she wants to follow her heart.
Same thing happened to a guy in South Florida who was a MS and married with 3 kids and a regular pioneer for 20 years.
She wanted to go to a company party, he refused, she went any ways, stayed over night and home the next day to declare to him that she was a lesbian. She was willing to stay with him till their 16 year old daughter was ought, and give him the marital due, but her deal included time with her new found lover.
He said no deal!
The hardest thing he told me was; "I can compete with another man, but how do you compete with another woman?"
